Orbioom LLC provides GetBored. Contact support@orbioom.com for privacy questions or a request about information you have sent us.
Records on your device
Block rules, private selection tokens, session records, program dates, triggers, practices, reflections, onboarding usage estimates, daily goals, time-comparison choices and companion choices are stored locally. The app marks its local records as excluded from backups. It retains the most recent 200 session records; earned milestones persist locally. GetBored does not request your contacts or location.
Screen Time permission
You choose whether to authorize individual Screen Time access. Apple’s picker supplies private tokens for selected apps, categories and websites. GetBored and its blocking extensions share these tokens locally to manage shields and monitoring. We do not receive your app list, browsing history or Screen Time reports. Apple’s protected report extension displays actual usage on the device; the main app cannot read or export these totals. Daily allowances rely on Apple’s system callbacks. You can revoke access in Settings → Screen Time → Apps with Screen Time Access.
Optional analytics
You can enable Help improve GetBored during onboarding or in Settings. If you leave it off, the app does not initialize Firebase or send analytics. If enabled, Google receives a random app-instance identifier, basic feature events, onboarding step numbers, permission-request outcomes, successful block setup and recorded ending status, offered/verified purchase information, app and operating-system details, and coarse country/region derived from network requests. The Firebase SDK also processes technical diagnostic metadata. This is pseudonymous data, not a guarantee of anonymity.
We use this information to understand onboarding, feature reliability, retention and paid conversion. We do not send selected-app tokens or lists, browsing history, protected Screen Time usage, names, session intentions, reflections, assessments, control scores, contacts, payment-card details or exact location. Advertising IDs, vendor IDs, advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. The app does not request tracking permission or perform fingerprinting.
For consenting App Store installations, Apple may receive a short-lived AdServices token to confirm Apple Ads attribution. The token goes only to Apple and is not stored or sent to Google. A confirmed campaign source and campaign ID may be recorded in Firebase. Registered campaign links can record their source after an installation; they do not establish the original install source. Other acquisition sources remain unknown when no reliable attribution exists.
Turn analytics off in Settings to stop collection and reset the local analytics identity/queued analytics. This does not automatically erase information previously received by Google. Delete all local data also removes the local analytics preferences. Google Analytics event/user-level retention is configured to two months, with user-data retention not extended by new activity. Aggregate reports may remain longer under Google’s retention rules. Any separately enabled BigQuery sandbox export has a 60-day expiration. Google may process data outside your country using its applicable data-protection terms. See Google’s privacy policy and Firebase privacy information.
Contact support@orbioom.com for privacy requests. Because there is no app account and we do not collect your email as analytics, we may be unable to associate a contact request with an existing random app-instance identifier. We do not sell analytics or private app records.
Exports and support
Your exported private records leave GetBored only when you intentionally use the share sheet. The local practice export contains your plan and self-reported answers. Plus session CSV exports contain dates, recorded durations and end status; including intentions is optional and off by default. They exclude private selection tokens, protected usage totals and reflection answers. Support diagnostics contain technical status, counts, bounded error codes and event dates, and exclude selection tokens, app names and personal answers. Preview every report before sharing. The destination you choose has its own privacy practices.
If you contact Orbioom, we receive the message, your contact details and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond to your request, troubleshoot and meet applicable legal obligations. We do not sell them or use them for advertising. Request deletion by emailing us; we will remove information that is no longer needed for your request or legal obligations. Please do not send private selection tokens or unnecessary personal records.
Purchases and reminders
Apple processes payments. StoreKit loads localized prices and verifies your purchase entitlement; we do not receive payment-card details. Optional reminders are scheduled locally and stop in the fourth program week and after graduation. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Apple’s privacy policy applies to Apple services.
Deletion and research
Settings → Delete all local data and blocks releases blocks and deletes the app’s local plan, rules, records and customization. It does not cancel billing. This version does not enroll users in a research study or upload data to researchers. A future pilot would require separate informed consent.
This website
These support pages contain no tracking scripts, advertising, forms or nonessential cookies. The hosting provider may process request information, such as IP address and technical request logs, to serve and secure the pages. These website requests are separate from app records; opening the site does not send your practice or blocking records.
Policy changes
We will update this page and its date when our practices change. Material changes to app data collection will be explained before collection begins.
